Dear Prospective NW Kickers Soccer Club Member:
Thanks for your interest in the Kickers Soccer Club. We have prepared this section to give you a quick tour of what our club is about. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Mission Statement The Kickers Soccer Club is committed to offering soccer programs that give youth in the northwest suburbs, ages 5 through 19, the opportunity to develop the sportsmanship and skill of soccer. We strive to prepare players to compete at the highest level they are capable of.
The Kickers Soccer Club prides itself in the development of athletic excellence, along with the interpersonal skills, team skills, and social skills, which are essential in life. We offer programs for all skills and all experience levels.
Affiliation
The Kickers are affiliated with MYSA (the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association), the governing body for youth soccer in Minnesota. Our seasons are defined by MYSA.
Soccer Trainers The club hires professional soccer trainers (Feggie’s Soccer Academy) to work with each Kickers team. Each team receives training based on their needs and abilities. Each team typically receives 16 hours of professional traning, as well as specialized training sessions (ie goal keeper sessions).
The club offers clinics for players at different times of the year, provides coaches training at the local level and reimburses coaches for the cost of coaching licenses that they complete successfully.
Ages 5-8
Spring Season - Eight week season in May and June.
Fall Season - Eight week season in Sept and Oct.
Winter Season - Eight week (indoor) season in Jan and Feb.
In all cases, the Kickers provides trainers who will run the sessions.
Please see the "Little/Junior Kickers" tab for more information.
Ages 9-19
These ages are typically referred to as "traveling or club soccer".
Spring Season - Training starts in April, with games played in May, June, and early July.
A time commitment of 3 sessions a week is required. Teams are typically formed the previous Fall. The club hosts tryouts, and players are selected based on these tryouts. If there are openings on a team after tryouts, the club will consider adding players, at the discression of each teams coach.
Fall Season (ages 9-14 only) - A less intense season, with weekly games played on weekends in Sept and Oct. Typically, Falls teams are made up of Spring players, as well as new players at tryouts.
Winter Season - There is no MYSA Winter traveling soccer season. The club offers training and games on a team-by-team basis, typically organized by each team's coach.
